Safety Glass

Glass can be made safe in three ways:
(1) Toughened or tempered glass - both stronger than ordinary glass and will break safely, for example, into small pieces.
(2) Pyroshield - glass, either opaque or clear, has a wire grid embedded in it, as shown right.
(3) Laminated - a layer of plastic is sandwiched between at least 2 sheets of glass. As the glass is attached to the plastic, if it breaks, the pieces remain in place.
Not all kinds of safety glass can have cut-outs. So if you are considering using safety glass, call or visit us to disucuss your project so we can help you choose the right materials.
